If you go fishing in the Amazon, depending on the location there are small, medium tucunarés and the
MONSTERS.
- To fish in Lake Balbina, where a maximum of 4 kg peacock bass predominates, we suggest the light rod of 12 – 17 pounds and multifilament line of 25 – 40 pounds.
- To fish in places where the peacock bass can weigh up to 7 kg, we suggest the 17-25 pound rod and 40 – 60 pound multifilament line.
- To fish in places where peacock bass reach over 7 kg (up to 10 kg), we suggest the 25 – 30 pound rod and 60 – 80 pound multifilament line.
The adrenaline is proportional to the risk of escaping, so adapt the fishing equipment to the location / size of the peacock bass in the fishing region. The chance of losing increases the adrenaline and fear of losing your beautiful trophy.
Particularly I use a 6.0 foot long, fast-acting pole with a long handle (two hands)
not to get tired in the pitches and to work the surface baits.
